Chippendale

Thomas Chippendale understood the relationship between design and craftsmanship. He created pieces that were functional and practical, as well as beautiful. His versatility as a craftsman meant he was commissioned to furnish some of the greatest houses in the country.

Established as the most celebrated cabinet maker of the Georgian period, his great strength as a designer was his ability to continually adapt and improve on existing styles.
